Accessing Temperature History

January 7, 2018 | Online Crochet Tools, Weather Information Sources

Many people want to use past temperatures and/or weather to make a historical temperature blanket. This is easy to do if you know how.

First, I use Weather Underground for all of my weather data. This might also be possible with other weather sites or apps, but I have a personal weather station that uploads to Weather Underground.

Below are some instructions on how to get to the historical temperatures and load them into Excel.

Go to www.wunderground.com and look up the correct location. Once you find the right location, follow these instructions…

1

Click on the “history” button.

2

Click on the custom tab to take you to a screen to enter a multiple date range.

3

Enter the dates you need and click on the blue button to get the data.

4

5

Highlight and copy all of the data. So, highlight but left clicking over all the numbers. Once they are all highlighted, click control-C (or use right click).

6

Open a new workbook in Excel. In the first cell, right click. This will give you a menu.

For pasting into Excel, the data will work better if you right click in the cell and choose “match destination formatting”.
